The key skill for supervision and peer consultation is reflective practice, that is, a mindful focus on the clinician’s practice and theory of practice.  In this interactive workshop participants will gain knowledge and skills for their own reflective practice and to facilitate reflective practice for those for whom they provide supervision or consultation.  Topics  include

  •  distinctions between supervision, consultation and case management

  • peer consultation group agreement

  •  theories and models of reflective practice and critical reflective practice

  • 3 types of reflection

  • 3 templates and 7 tools for reflective practice (in the new REFLECTIVE PRACTICE TOOL KIT provided to all participants)

  • ethical challenges in inviting self-reflection in supervision and consultation

Assumed:  knowledge and skills in contracting and conducting individual supervision or peer consultation
